So, my friend Jacob is leaving for Marine bootcamp today.

It’s just weird; I mean, a few weeks ago he was a 17-year old student who gave me a hard time during my computer class.. and two days ago? A grown, 18-year old Marine cadet. It’s just crazy… my life seems like it isn’t moving fast at all, but at the same time all of my friends are leaving or getting ready to leave for something more important than this small town.

Maybe it’s weird to me because I’m scared.. I’m scared my life will never amount to something as important as Jacob’s will. But that’s a different story.
